AutoCAD was originally released for use with the Microprocessor Autodesk 6502 (6502-based) 8-bit computer platform. It was ported to the CP/M operating system and this version became available in 1982. AutoCAD evolved into an X-based workstation product in 1983 with release of version 2. This version could also run on a CP/M system with a file transfer protocol (FTP) and could be shared over a LAN network using the Novell NetWare system.
Drafting of AutoCAD began at MIT Lincoln Laboratory in the late 1970s. Shortly before the release of AutoCAD in 1982, Dave Hohnaut—the Autodesk VP who had been working on it—left Lincoln Laboratory to found Autodesk and take responsibility for the project. In the early days, Hohnaut worked with Dick Braden and Dennis P. Kelly, both of whom had been at MIT Lincoln Laboratory as well, to develop the interface for the internal drawing program. While at Autodesk, Hohnaut developed the AutoLISP programming language (a precursor of the AutoLISP programming language that is used by the 2017 version of AutoCAD). The founding principle of AutoCAD was to permit users of this application to easily create a drawing using a drawing program with easy to use features and no training. From the outset, AutoCAD was targeted for use by unskilled users such as architects and artists.
AutoCAD was not originally designed to be a commercial product. In fact, development of AutoCAD was often done at a customer's site, on company time. This arrangement ended when Autodesk's early contracts began to dry up in the early 1980s. The name AutoCAD was selected to suggest a kind of "automatic drafting" or "automatic creation."

Visual LISP, the Visual LISP programming language, and VBA, which allow script-like programming with AutoCAD, are more difficult to learn than other types of programming. AutoCAD Visual LISP includes the ULD library, which is a special development tool for LISP programmers. Visual LISP and VBA are also more difficult to learn than most programming languages.
AutoCAD Architecture allows users to create complex drawings and drawings incorporating complex geometry. AutoCAD Architecture is a member of the Architecture Development Suite. AutoCAD Architecture can use other drawing objects created with AutoCAD as design elements. AutoCAD Architecture offers geometrical options for both flat and perspective views. It can represent dimension and spatial information and can be used to create plans, sections, elevations, and BIM-based drawings.
AutoCAD Electrical was designed to help electrical engineers. AutoCAD Electrical is a member of the Electrical & Instrumentation Suite. AutoCAD Electrical includes the FEA programming environment, which has a component-based approach that allows users to create programs quickly by using visual toolbars and a programming language. AutoCAD Electrical is available in both a client-server and a stand-alone version.
AutoCAD Civil 3D was designed to help civil engineers and other professional surveyors create civil engineering drawings. Civil 3D is a member of the Civil Suite. Civil 3D includes the basic set of tools required to produce geospatial data, including curve and spline creation, annotation and automatic coordinates.

Step2: Install the necessary plugins.
Go to Plugins-->Plugins-->Viewpoints.
Drag the Autodesk Viewpoint to an open space.

Go to Edit-->Extract-->Extract Entities.
In the Entity Manager, select the entities that you want to extract.
Select the entities and click on the OK button to complete the process.
To extract custom meshes, click on the Entity Manager and select the Mesh entity.
The mesh names are listed in the Manage Entities window.
Step7: Export the saved view to Autocad.
Use the menu option to export to Autocad and save it as an SVG file.
Step8: Use the generated SVG file in your Autocad project.
Add the SVG file to your project.
Use the drawing name as the name of the new view.
You can then edit the SVG file in Autocad.
When you are finished editing the SVG file,
use the export option to save the file as a DWG.
Step9: Save the document.
Save the document with the name that you want to use.
Open the document in Autocad and save it.
